The protest will take place at the Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council offices on Wednesday
Campaigners calling for the release of Max the dog from Lisburn and Castlereagh council care will stage a protest on Wednesday evening amid claims they are being "kept in the dark".
Dog lovers across Northern Ireland launched campaign calling for his release with the USPCA calling for an independent assessment of the dog.The council had its own assessment of Max carried out, by an assessor that had not been approved by the animal charity, which determined that Max was a banned breed. However the council later agreed to another assessment taking place.
Independent unionist councillor Gary Hynds has also called on the council to reveal the results of the assessment to the public saying on social media: "Considering our council is not updating you all regarding Max, I will update you with what I can my end. The independent third party assessment is complete and in the interests of transparency & consistency I have called on the council to communicate the result of that assessment with you, the public.
