Nauwi sa tulakan ang paninita ng mga pulis sa ilang nagpoprotesta laban sa ginagawang pagmimina ng isang kompanya sa Sibuyan Island sa Romblon. Ayon sa lokal na pamahalaan, may permit umano mula sa national government ang pagmimina.
Sa ulat ni Cedric Castillo sa GMA News “24 Oras” nitong Biyernes, makikita ang tulakan ng mga pulis at mga nagpoprotesta na nangyari sa bayan sa Barangay Espana sa San Fernando.
Napag-alaman na 11 araw nang nagtitipon-tipon ang mga residente na kontra sa ginagawang pagmimina sa lugar. “Nagputol sila ng punong kahoy, nagkalkal ng seven meters na mga lupa at ikakarga doon sa malaking barko na nandyan simula pa noong last week, Lunes. Kaya tuloy-tuloy ang pagbarikada ng mga tao,” Rodne Galicha ng Living Laudato Si Philippines said.
“Ang sinasabi ko sa PNP ko dito is mag-maintain sila ng peace and order at saka maximum tolerance, at hindi po ba sila 'yung nag-i-enforce ng laws when it comes to peace and order,” anang alkalde.
