The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) On Sunday announced that over 50 million Filipinos are now have their Philippine Identification System (PhilSys).

In a media release, the PSA said that it has reached a new milestone after having successfully issued a total of 50,176,726 PhilIDs and ePhilIDs that can be used for transactions needing proof of identity.

“We, at the PSA, take this milestone as another step towards our goal of delivering the benefits of being PhilSys-registered to more Filipinos,” said PSA Undersecretary Dennis S. Mapa, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General. PSA field offices are also on the frontlines for ePhilID issuance at registration centers, and through its house-to-house and plaza-type distribution nationwide, the media release indicated.
