Police say their investigation has only just begun and are appealing for anyone with information that could help their enquiries to come forward
A man was seriously injured in an alleged assault in Co Antrim on Wednesday night, the PSNI has said.
It was reported at approximately 11.50pm on Wednesday, 2nd August that a man, who was in an apartment in the area, had been seriously injured.Police said a man in his 40s had suffered injuries to his head and leg as a result of a reported assault. "Officers attended, alongside colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service. The man, aged in his 40s, has suffered an injury to his head and leg as a result of the assault. He has been taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.
