Pre-covid the figure the GAA contributed to team holidays for All-Ireland finalists was €80,000 per county, with the figure believed to have risen since then. News of the alleged incident will have left clubs and fans dismayed, and has cast a shadow over the team’s achievements as they look towards 2025.
