PSNI helicopter used after police receive report of scramblers in North Belfast park
PSNI officers deployed a police helicopter after receiving "a report of scramblers being driven" in a North Belfast park on Wednesday.
News of the report emerged as the PSNI said they have charged a 31-year-old man with a number of offences including dangerous driving and possession of a Class B drug. The arrest was made after a report of scramblers being driven in the Ligoniel Park area on Wednesday, March 22 which saw officers detain the suspect, with assistance from air support.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "A 31-year-old man has been charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, using a motor vehicle without insurance and being in possession of a Class B controlled drug. "He is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court on April 19. As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service."For all the latest news, visit the Belfast Live homepage here and sign up to our daily newsletter here.
