'The caller could well have prevented another death on our roads.'
Police officers have issued a fresh warning over the dangers of drink driving following a number of incidents in Co Down.The incident was reported on the A2 on Wednesday and led to the suspected driver being intercepted and arrested.In a post on social media, police in Ards and North Down said this "could well have prevented another death on our roads".
A PSNI spokesperson said: "Great bit of work by a motorist yesterday afternoon on the busy A2 who spotted a potential driver under the influence. Able to give a good description of the car and manner of driving backed up by dash cam footage. "The A2 is one of our busiest roads and the caller could well have prevented another death on our roads. Our thanks to them for reporting to us so promptly and getting this driver off the road."
