There were some chaotic scenes at the Emirates after the final whistle ARSPSV

A clip posted on Twitter showed the visiting fans throwing objects at the few fans that were left in the Emirates and police officers segregating the home and away ends.On the pitch, it was yet another brilliant performance from Arsenal as they booked their place in the Europa League knockout stages.

PSV, who are managed by former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy, were second best throughout, but the hosts could not find a breakthrough in a frustrating first-half. Gabriel Jesus dragged a shot wide and Fabio Vieira coming close with a free-kick as Bukayo Saka was once again the standout performer for Arteta’s side.

Granit Xhaka did eventually get the breakthrough with a second half goal that secured victory, and kept up their 100 per cent record in the group stages.

This fixture was initially postponed following the death of the Queen and the Manchester City clash which would have seen the top two in the Premier League go toe-to-toe had to make way this time around.
