Fans of Oldham and Wrexham clashed in 'mindless' violence
Two large groups of rival football fans erupted in a mass ‘organised’ brawl - before shaking hands and walking away.
Alban Hart, 21; Luke Groome-Harrison, 22; and Louis Davies, 24, were each arrested for their involvement in the disorder and have since been brought to justice after being convicted of violent disorder. In footage played to the court officers could be heard shouting ‘Get back’ as two large groups appeared to be squaring up to each other. The disturbance was said to last around ten minutes before the groups suddenly came together, embraced, shook hands and parted ways. Fortunately no members of the public were injured and there was no significant damage to property.
Groome-Harrison was also shown at the front of the Oldham group before running towards a clash with the Wrexham fans. He is then seen to confront a man causing him to back off before punching another male to the floor, the court heard. “He said ‘all hell broke loose’, with Wrexham throwing bottles and he said he felt like an idiot and shouldn’t have done it,” Mr MacIntosh added.
Of Hart, she said he was actively pursuing an application for the Royal Marines, but both have ambitions to join the military.
