NPS said the project aims to repair damage to the historic fort's seawalls sustained during storms while also improving the experience for guests and minimizing impacts on natural and cultural resources.

The current conditions of the seawall sections range from fair to poor condition, according to NPS. Raising the seawall could also help prevent flooding and build resiliency for the historic downtown area. The meeting is set from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Renaissance St. Augustine Historic Downtown Hotel located at 6 West Castillo Dr. Anyone can also attend the meeting virtuallyResidents have until July 17 to give their comments on the project.
