by Darwin Singleton Public Safety Director Lasky responds to NBC 15 report on officer’s complaint against him embattled Mobile Police Chief Paul Prine wasn't the only person in the Mobile Police Department to file a grievance against a top city official. An MPD police officer, who also worked with an FBI task force, filed a complaint against Public Safety Director Rob Lasky .

Also in that January 16th grievance to top city officials, the officer said Lasky was pressuring him to obtain what he considered top secret information from the FBI about the southern border. As for that grievance being received by NBC 15 News, Lasky said he was deeply saddened "...that a valued member of the Mobile Police Departments confidential personnel record would be released to the press because of its relationship to me and my position. I want to convey my sincerest apologies for any additional distress this could cause the officer who filed the grievance."

In the early weeks of my time as Public Safety Director, I sought to better understand our relationships with our partner agencies, including that of the FBI. In doing so, I unknowingly made a task force officer feel intimidated or uncomfortable.
