The Pride of Britain Fund is offering grants of £2,500, £1,000 and £500 to 65 community projects across the UK. The public vote is open until March 2nd, 2025.
Voting is now open for a new £100,000 fund that will reward the work of vital community projects across the UK. The new Pride of Britain Fund will give away grants of £2,500, £1,000 and £500 to 65 groups and individuals providing much-needed support to communities across the country. Voting is now open for the public to choose which of the shortlisted projects selected from almost 2,000 nominations should receive the grants.
The fund builds on the work of the Pride of Britain awards, which has been recognizing the nation’s unsung heroes for more than 25 years. Michelle Linaker, trustee of the Pride of Britain Fund and head of Studio Live at Reach, said: “It’s amazing to see so many people doing small things that make a big difference in their communities. Whether it’s looking out for neighbours or giving kids safe places to play, they are truly unsung heroes. I’d encourage everybody to vote for their favourite as there are some fantastic nominations right across the country.” To take part, voters must enter their full name and email address to participate and will be able to vote for up to one nominee per region - from Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, North East, North West, Yorkshire/Humber, Midlands – incorporating the northern part of East Anglia, South East – incorporating the southern part of East Anglia, and South West. The public vote is open for a period of 4 weeks from 9am on Monday 3 February to 11:45pm on Sunday 2 March 2025, with the results announced a week after. Darren Fisher, chair of the board of trustees for the Pride of Britain Fund and Reach chief finance officer, said: “The Pride of Britain Fund has earmarked £100,000 to supercharge the work of local heroes all over the country, with grants of £500, £1,000 and £2,500 to be given out to 65 deserving community projects. It was really important to us that the public get to decide who receives these grants as we want to reward local heroes who make a real impact in, and for, their communities.” There will be a total of 65 winners, with the £100k giveaway split along regional lines to ensure maximum community impact and equal coverage across the country.
