Once officers arrived on scene, including Pinckard Police Captain Jarred Ogletree, it became much more clear the circumstances these young creatures were dealing with.
Eight puppies were found in a “gruesome” state inside of a small kennel, five of them barely clinging to life as they laid next to their three dead siblings.PINCKARD, Ala. - A disturbing case out of Dale County saw officers discover multiple puppies in decaying states, left for dead by their owners.
“When I arrived on scene, I immediately observed that the bowls were tipped, no water out here and food on the ground,” Ogletree said in describing the living conditions. “Two canines chained and multiple puppies inside of a small enclosure.” “Individuals who beat their dogs, we deal with stuff like that. But, as far as just letting your animals die in a cage, starving to death, that is whole other level of animal cruelty than I have ever seen,” explained Ogletree.
