Vladimir Putin has accused the Wagner Group of “treason” and “armed mutiny” as mercenaries claim the southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don.
In a televised address on Saturday morning the Russian President vowed to punish everyone involved in the “armed rebellion,” declaring that his nation will"defend itself" against the"criminal campaign."“It is equivalent to armed mutiny. Russia will defend itself and repel this move.”
It comes after Mr Progozhin accused the Kremlin of killing a large number of his fighters in an air strike.
