Russia aimed to practise 'strategic offensive forces launching a massive nuclear strike in response to a nuclear strike by the enemy'
This week’s exercise involved Russia’s full nuclear triad of ground-, sea- and air-launched missiles. In September Russia extended the list of scenarios under which Moscow would consider using nuclear weapons, stating that it would consider any assault on it supported by a nuclear power to be a joint attack.
“If Trump wins the White House and there’s a Republican House or a Republican Senate, it’s going to be very unlikely that Ukrainians will get large amounts of support, or indeed any support, from the Americans going forward,” she said. “Putin is very aware of that.”
