A man has been arrested and charged for allegedly defacing the Finance Minister's office in Canberra with what appears to be a blue letter 'V'.

Australian Capital Territory Police were called to a Senator's office about 1.40pm on Monday following reports of property damage.

The letter ‘V’ was pictured drawn in blue on top of wooden planks lining Ms Gallagher’s office at Corinna Street in Phillip."A man was arrested at the scene shortly after the incident," ACT Police confirmed in a statement. The accused’s identity and motives remain unknown. Ms Gallagher has lived in Canberra her entire life and serves as a Minister for Finance, Women and Public Service.
