The mission, called PY4, sent four CubeSats to low Earth orbit aboard SpaceX’s Transporter-10 mission, which launched at 5:05 pm ET on Monday, March 4, from Space Launch Complex 4E at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.
Carnegie Mellon University leads the PY4 mission in Pittsburgh, and it is funded by NASA’s Small Spacecraft Technology program.on NASA’s website, it was devised to “demonstrate spacecraft-to-spacecraft ranging, in-orbit navigation and coordinated simultaneous multi-point radiation measurements at low size, weight, power, and cost.
