The Quezon City local government unit has joined forces with the Food and Drugs Administration to support micro, small, and medium enterprises in the city.
“Through our partnership with the local government of Quezon City, we aim to provide MSMEs with the resources they need to succeed. This includes access to training, technical assistance, and support in complying with regulatory requirements, said FDA Director-General Samuel Zacate said.
“We recognize the value of our MSMEs and their contribution to the local economy. This partnership will propel them forward as they seek the important certification from FDA to confirm the safety, efficacy, and quality of their food and cosmetic products,” QC Mayor Joy Belmonte said. According to FDA and QC LGU, this step will create more employment opportunities for the local citizens as well as boost productivity and improve their overall quality of life.
The local government noted that the signed MOA adhered to the guidelines established by the Republic Act No. 9501 or Magna Carta for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Moreover, it added that the Q-Certified program will soon be launched through the Small Business and Cooperatives Development and Promotions Office to assist the MSMEs in any needed certification or registration in other government agencies.
