Queensland Liberal leader David Crisafulli has listed his suggestions on how the government can tackle the soar in youth crime, as one soon-to-be Sunshine State resident revealed the scary moment a group of boys stole the keys to the family's $350K car.

Queensland Opposition Leader David Crisafulli told Sky News Australia the controversial bill passed in March, which made breach of bail an offence for children, was not working.

He listed some suggestions for Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk to look into, such as removing detention as a last resort. Picture: Dan Peled / NCA NewsWire Mr Crisafulli looked at the legislation on technology and found one of the reasons a young offender could refuse to not wear it was simply because they did not want to.

"A generation of untouchables who know their rights outweigh the rights of the victim," the Liberal leader responded, adding kids"know their way around the law". Witnesses said the vehicle allegedly reached speeds of up to 150km/h before it was later dumped in the crocodile-infested waters of the Fitzroy River.

"That’s a scary thing. They took out car and people that were just staying two doors down… stole their new Patrol and they rammed the boom gates as they got out."
