The royals appeared in high spirits as they visited King's College London to open new education and learning facilities.
The Queen and the Duchess of Cambridge met a robot and visited a roof terrace overlooking London on their first joint engagement outside Buckingham Palace.
Her Majesty, 92, and Kate, 37, appeared in high spirits as they visited King's College London to open Bush House, new education and learning facilities on the Strand Campus. The pair toured the facilities and met supporters of the development, as well as admiring city views on a rooftop boasting panoramic views of the UK capital, with Kate describing the sight as"impressive".The Queen and her granddaughter-in-law viewed a robotics demonstration which included a robotic surgery and a demo showcasing how sensors made from textiles can measure useful information about the body.
Kate, who was wearing a bespoke grey Catherine Walker coat for the engagement, shook a robotic hand and joked:"Very nice to meet you". They then visited the King's virtual trading floor and met with students from the Entrepreneurship Institute which supports entrepreneurial thinking, skills and experiences amongst King's students, staff and alumni.Kate spent time with entrepreneur Aysha Ingar, who set up an app for Muslim women, and Tobi Oredein, who founded a media platform for black women in the UK.
