A letter written by the Queen shortly after the birth of her first son Prince Charles has now been sold at auction and in it, she makes a sweet remark about the newborn's appearance
The late Queen once expressed her envy over the then Prince Charles ' lack of hair as a baby in a letter to a friend, which has recently been auctioned off. In the letter, dated April 22, 1949, addressed to "Richard", the Queen playfully revealed her jealousy over his nephew's 'luxurious' head of hair that she had seen in a photograph. At that time, the future king was only five months old and didn't have much hair of his own.
The monarch continued: "I hope Ela's baby is going on well, too - I expect you are a busy uncle, now! It must have been a wonderful family gathering for Easter-and great fun, too! I hope we shall meet again before too long.", reports the Mirror. The letter was simply signed 'Elizabeth'. The letter, which was consigned by a private collector, fetched £1,600 at RR Auction, based in Boston, US.
