The late Queen Elizabeth was known for her witty sense of humour and iconic one-liners which helped her connect with members of the public throughout her historical 70 year reign.
Following the birth of the future King, Charles was besotted with his son and wrote to his cousin, the Countess Mountbatten of Burma, OK! reports. But it seems not everyone in the family had been feeling quite as sentimental as the former Prince of Wales as when the Queen finally got to meet her new heir, she said: “Thank heavens he hasn’t ears like his father,” Marie Claire reports.
He said: “When I was at school, I was embarrassed by them and I wanted to pin them back. Now it’s like, ‘Thank God I didn’t’.
