Frederik X, 56, and his wife Mary, 52, were mobbed by waiting fans as they made their annual appearance at Graasten Palace, in Jutland, southern Denmark.

They were all smiles as they posed for cameras - despite their marriage being plagued with rumours of marital struggles since the King was pictured out in Madrid with Mexican socialite Genoveva Casanova last year. She teamed the look with a pair of nude open toe heels, which she stylishly matched with the same colour hat. Her accessories of choice were a pair of drop down pearl earrings and gold bracelets.
Adults and children alike waved Danish flags and held out camera phones hoping to catch a glimpse of the monarchs. They were all smiles as they chatted with wellwishers, and were greeted with people holding Danish and local flags, with stunning rolling green hills in the background.
