The royal couple greeted Icelandic president Tómasdóttir, 55, and her husband, Mr Björn Skúlason, on Tuesday morning, at the start of a two-day state visit.

It marks Frederik's first incoming state visit since he ascended the throne of Denmark in January this year, following his mother Queen Margrethe II's historic abdication. The trip reaffirms the 'historical ties and close relationship' between Denmark and Iceland, a statement from the Royal House read.
The new King of Denmark looked dapper in a dress shirt, pair of dark trousers, and co-ordinated peacoat. His creation featured long sleeves, a cowl neck, and a belted, voluminous skirt, with a white sash over the shoulder. After meeting the Presidential couple, Mary and Frederik accompanied them to to The Citadel for a wreath-laying ceremony as Iceland's new president waved to onlookers.
