II is set to hit a record-breaking milestone as she reaches her 25,000th day on the throne – the first time ever for a British monarch.
Before that, the record was held by George III, whose reign ended on January 28, 1820 after 59 years and 68 days. But her Platinum Jubilee, celebrating 70 years on the throne, is less than two years away, which will undoubtedly entail several large-scale events to honour the achievement.
