Motorists are being warned of an upcoming road closure near Watford Junction ahead of the “major works”.

Queens Road will be shut from the junction with Woodford Road, St Johns Road, and Orphanage Road to the junction with Radlett Road between 9.30am and 4pm from Tuesday May 14 to Thursday May 16 next week.We will be undertaking Major works under Road Closure 09:30 - 16:00 on Queens Road, Watford junction Orphanage Road 14 - 16 May to undertake essential utility works. More information:The closure is for “micro surfacing aftercare”.

Micro surfacing involves spreading a layer of stones and bitumen onto the carriageway to seal it, even out dips and bumps, and restore grip for vehicles. This means the council must come back around six weeks later to raise any ironwork, sweep up loose stones, and repaint road markings. We want our comments to be a lively and valuable part of our community - a place where readers can debate and engage with the most important local issues.
