I was like, ‘Dad, I made it on the NY times bestseller list!’ He was like, ‘your cookbook’s out?’ I Just said, ‘Jesus Christ, Dad!’ I remember when I first got the book in the mail and opening it up and seeing months and months of work all come together in one big piece.
It hasn’t been normal. I’m still trying to adjust. I only started meditating a few weeks ago and that was something I hadn’t done for years that a lot of friends suggested I do. If I walk into a room and I see someone who is sad or upset, I take on their feelings and keep them. If I get sad, I stay sad a lot longer than I need to. Same with happiness.
