One of the more concerning findings in the Kenyen Brown report about the Mobile Police Department is that officers may have violated the constitutional rights o

f some citizens during arrests.

If the DOJ were to be called in to investigate Mobile's police department, says Brown, the result could be damaging to the city. Also, "the going into, or the attempt to go into phones unconstitutionally and repeatedly" to search for evidence, says Brown, citing the officer involved shooting death of Kordell Jones earlier this year on Charles Street.

“So that is just a litany of factors that I see,” summarized Brown, “that an outside entity like DOJ would be very interested in.
