Qui-Gon's Lightsaber Tells An Important Star Wars Tale It Was Used To "Kill" Darth Maul & Stayed With Obi-Wan For A Long Time Close In The Phantom Menace, Qui-Gon’s lightsaber is seen during many of the movie's most memorable scenes, including the Jedi Master's match against the army of battle droids and the famous Duel of the Fates.
Following their duel with Darth Maul, Qui-Gon's lightsaber was eventually returned to the Jedi Temple. During the Great Jedi Purge, Obi-Wan would regain possession of the blade before he went into hiding on Tatooine. On the planet, Obi-Wan roamed the desert carrying both his former master Qui-Gon's lightsaber and his former apprentice Anakin's lightsaber attached to his cloak.
