Three family pets were successfully rescued from the fire

A group of quick-thinking neighbours have been praised for their actions after they alerted a passing PSNI patrol to a blaze at a property in Co Armagh.

After alerting the NI Fire and Rescue Service, entry was gained to the premises and three family pets were safely rescued from the blaze.Hailing the efforts of all those involved a PSNI Armagh spokesperson wrote on their Facebook page: "Over the weekend, officers from Armagh Local Policing Response Team were out on patrol around the city when they were flagged down by vigilant neighbours who had spotted smoke coming from a property.
