Rabiya Mateo revealed for the first time the reason for her split with ex-boyfriend Neil Salvacion.
On Tuesday's episode of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 said that it wasn't true that she and Neil broke up because of her pageant journey.According to the Sparkle star, she still has many dreams for herself and her family, which made her unwilling to settle down.
"During that time, he was ready to settle na because feeling niya, okay na siya sa buhay. Pero ako, I wanna aspire to be more, so doon kami nagkaroon ng conflict," Rabiya recalled. The beauty queen added that she felt she couldn't give her 100% to the relationship because many things were happening in her life then.
"Galing din ako sa walang-wala, so when I won Miss Universe, sabi ko ito na 'yung time ko para makapag ipon, para mabilihan ko 'yung nanay ko ng bahay, para mapagpatuloy ko man kung gusto pa ng kapatid ko makapag-aral," she said. Rabiya added that since she grew up without a dad, she took on the responsibility of being the breadwinner for their family.in June 2021 after seven years together.
