Anti-racism protests in the UK are prominent on Friday's front pages ahead of a weekend of planned further demonstrations. According to the Guardian, Black Lives Matter organisers have cancelled a planned protest in London's Hyde Park on Saturday - due to"many hate groups" threatening their safety. Demonstrations by other groups are due to go ahead, it says. The paper also highlights the growing debate over statues of historical figures linked to racism and slavery.
Baden-Powell, who died aged 83 in 1941, has been criticised by campaigners who have accused him of racism, homophobia and support for Adolf Hitler.The Financial Times says the government has scrapped its plan to introduce full border checks with the EU on 1 January amid fears of the economic impact of coronavirus.
