Rachel Stevens ' ex-husband Alex Bourne has married his art dealer love Lily in a picturesque East Sussex ceremony, three years after the S Club 7 singer decided to end their marriage. The pair separated in 2022, with Rachel, 46, finding romance with her Dancing on Ice partner Brendyn Hatfield. Meanwhile, Alex, 47, found love with Lily , and after a romantic proposal on London's Hampstead Heath last summer, they tied the knot.
Adding a special touch to the day, Alex's daughters with Rachel, Amelie and Minnie, served as bridesmaids. On Instagram, the radiant bride Lily shared her joy, posting pictures and writing: 'A little more from our big day. Still on cloud 9. Words can't begin to describe our happiness. Thank you to all of our family and friends for being there on our special day.' The newlyweds are currently in Paris, savoring their first few days of married bliss in the City of Love. Lily has been sharing romantic photos from their trip, including a candlelit dinner where she and Alex hold hands across the table, showcasing their wedding rings. Another photo shows Alex enjoying a glass of Champagne while relaxing in their hotel, with Lily proudly captioning it: 'My husband!!!' Rachel previously opened up about the difficult decision to end her marriage, emphasizing the importance of showing her children that happiness extends beyond the façade of a perfect family. She reflected: 'There were a lot of fears and lots of questioning... 'Am I doing the right thing? ' I was in turmoil. We, as parents, show our children how to be happy, how to love, how to communicate.' 'It's not easy to navigate, but it's life. It's showing kids there's more than just getting married and having kids. We've grown up thinking we have to conform and it isn't like that. Our generation are breaking that barrier', reports the Mirror. Rachel also shared how much thought and care they put into breaking the news of their separation to their daughters. At the Happy Place festival, Rachel shared the experience: 'I remember the day so clearly... we were both so scared about telling them but we planned it. We were advised to do it in the morning when the kids weren't tired. It's something you muddle through but we were as planned as we could be.' Rachel voiced her concerns about how the divorce might affect her children but emphasized the importance of ensuring they feel secure: 'Alex and I are very aligned on that,' she expressed. 'It was all about them and making them feel we are there and we're not going anywhere.' 'It's definitely a process and it's taken a lot of navigating – and will for some time. Whatever is going on between us, we try to keep as separate as we can. We never speak badly of each other. We're going to make mistakes along the way but we're doing our best.
