'Kids on bikes would sort of surround me'
Popular for her work on TV and as a journalist, Ranvir Singh is known in households throughout the UK.
But things weren't always like this for the popular presenter. In the past, Ranvir has opened up about the racism she and her family faced as a child growing up in Preston. Speaking on BBC Radio 4 at the launch of Riddiculous, the mum-of-one said: "Well it's quite interesting isn't it, because when you're young your world is quite small, so it consists of your lounge, your front room where the TV is and the kitchen where your mum's cooking, and the little walk to school and back.
"I think when that happened everything came after it, does that make sense? I think your mind remembers the harder things sometimes, mine certainly does, so I remember being embarrassed that my dad had a turban, I didn't want to be on the same side of the road as him when he came to pick me up from school, and I think that's a guilt after he died, thinking why was I so mean to him, but that's what kids do.
