It means for those with an annual season ticket from Reading to London the price will jump from £5,044 to £5,341 an increase of £297 while an annual season ticket from Liverpool to Manchester will go up from £2,444 to £2,588 an increase of £144. “With record cancellations, second-rate infrastructure, and millions handed out to failing operators – it’s clear passengers are paying the price for thirteen years of Conservative failure.”
He added: “In our latest research, less than half of passengers think the railway currently performs well on delivering value for money tickets. He called for more initiatives like the extension of the Pay-As-You-Go and single-leg pricing trials.
