Patchy clouds over the Bay Area brought with them the possibility of rain and lightning Monday, but the weather is “not going to be anything impactful,” according to the National Weather Service.Monday afternoon included a 10-15% chance of isolated thunderstorms in the Central Coast and parts of the South Bay through Tuesday afternoon. As far as thunderstorms, the forecast says, there is “a potential for dry lightning and subsequent grass fire starts.”A NWS meteorologist said around 3:30 p.m.
The Santa Cruz mountains received 0.01 inches of rain, according to the weather service, but there were no other measurable amounts of rain showing Monday afternoon on a National Weather Service map tracking rainfall.
