Rain Matienzo just appeared in "Maria Clara at Ibarra" as Salome!
The character is the love interest of Elias in the missing chapter of "Noli Me Tangere," which Dr. Jose Rizal removed from the final manuscript due to lack of funds. Titled "Elias at Salome," new editions of the novel now contain the chapter in the appendix, so students who read Noli in high school are familiar with Salome.
On Monday's episode of "Maria Clara at Ibarra," Elias met Salome in the woods and the two exchanged sweet greetings and a hug.
