Tottenham Hotspur fell to a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea on Tuesday at Stamford Bridge. We examine Randal Kolo Muani’s performance and what impact it could have.
Spurs were unable to claim the point that would essentially ensure survival at Stamford Bridge. On Sunday, Tottenham will face Everton at home, as they look to secure the point that should guarantee their Premier League status for the 2026-27 campaign.
Kolo Muani’s loan spell at Tottenham has no doubt been a disaster. The attacker has only scored one Premier League goal to date, with the 27-year-old struggling in multiple matches.on 19 May, he only completed 59 per cent of his passes, he did not create a single chance or have a shot on goal, all of his crosses failed to find a teammate, and he also made an error that led to a goal.
If this type of performance were repeated on Sunday, it would almost put Everton in a prime position to secure a victory, which could relegate Spurs if West Ham were to win. As a result, De Zerbi must simply drop the attacker before his performances send the North London club into the English second tier. The attacker will most likely end up at Juventus, with Spurs refusing to sign him permanently at the end of the season.
While Tottenham’s transfer strategy is being dictated by whether they can survive the drop or not, Kolo Muani will not be a part of the squad going forward, no matter what happens on Sunday However, it remains to be if the winger will be given any more minutes in a Spurs shirt in their impending clash against Everton on the final match of the season.
