Randy Vásquez is getting back on turn in Triple-A El Paso’s rotation. In his first start since his latest big-league stint, the 25-year-old right-hander struck out six over 4 ⅓ innings in the Chihuahuas’ 9-4 loss on Sunday to visiting Sacramento. Vásquez allowed three runs —two earned—on six hits, two walks and a hit batter. He threw 58 of his 92 pitches for strikes. Vásquez had a 5.82 ERA in five starts filling in for Yu Darvish and then Joe Musgrove.
Wichita 3, Missions 1: RHP Jared Kollar struck out four and allowed three runs in four innings in the loss. RF Zach Reks went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a walk. SS Ray-Patrick Didder went 2-for-4. Lansing 8, TinCaps 1: RHP Henry Baez struck out three and allowed just one hit in four shutout innings in the start. The bullpen allowed eight runs over the final five innings. CF Homer Bush Jr. went 1-for-4 with a double and 1B Lucas Dunn went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk. LF Tyler Robertson went 1-for-4 with an RBI. LOW SINGLE-A LAKE ELSINORE San Jose 10, Storm 2: SS Leodalis De Vries went 1-for-4 his second steal and a run scored.
