The club are moving towards a data-driven approach to signing players in the upcoming windows.
Rangers have reportedly made a major move in sharking up their scouting and recruitment set-up by showing club legends John Brown and Billy Kirkwood the door.
Record Sport revealed earlier this month that the Ibrox side were ramping up their shake up by culling swathes of their scouting department as they move towards a more video and data-led operation. Rangers sources stated the revamp is about bringing the club into line with other top European clubs on these particular fronts.
Rangers have not replaced sporting director Ross Wilson who left for Nottingham Forest last season. Manager Michael Beale took over the majority of his summer recruitment himself and was aided by chief scout John Park. While several scouts were already part of the scouting process in the shake up. The Sun now state that the Light Blues are set to part company with former Ibrox players Brown and Kirkwood.
Scouting coordinator Billy McLaren will also leave as the Scottish Premiership club move towards a data-led operation as part of the "complete overhaul." Brown has played a key role in helping identify potential signings while Kirkwood was Gers' loan manager. Last summer Rangers spent around £13million to bring in the likes of Danilo, Cyriel Dessers, Jack Butland, Dujon Sterling, Kieran Dowell, Abdallah Sima, Jose Cifuentes, Leon Balogun and Sam Lammers. Question marks remain over a number of Beale’s signings after a sluggish start to the new campaign.
