Light Blue legions are desperately waiting for news on where they will play their home games in the early part of the season.
Rangers have been told to be clear with fans over their stadium move plans and make a decision NOW amid venue uncertainty - just a month before the Scottish Premiership season kicks off.
Record Sport revealed Hampden Park is the new frontrunner with high level talks going on between Ibrox chiefs and their SFA counterparts. It had previously been thought the National Stadium would be unavailable due to pop artist Pink staging two concerts there last month and that had seen Murrayfield - where Rangers will play Manchester United in a friendly later this month - considered the most viable option.
However, Hampden bosses are keen to help the Light Blues out of a crisis after a delay in construction work to the Copland Road stand means their stadium will be out of commission for at least the first month of the season. Anxious fans are desperately awaiting news of which side of the M8 their games will take place. The story has attracted attention south of the border with former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson even having his say - and urged Rangers to give supporters some clarity, admitting the prospect of moving to a smaller capacity stadium can't be an option.
He told Football Insider: “Rangers need to make a decision now. They can’t be saying they’ll be somewhere for two weeks, then if Ibrox isn’t ready in time they’ll be somewhere else for two weeks – they need to tell supporters when the ground will be ready, and have a place sorted until then. They’re down to play Manchester United on 20 July, and that’s at Murrayfield. So that gives you some indication as to where they’re going to be.
