Gillespie is set to replace Bisgrove after he left for the Saudi Pro League
Rangers are reportedly set to name St Mirren vice-chairman Jim Gillespie as the new chief executive at the club.
Chairman John Bennett and the board have been on the lookout for a successor to James Bisgrove since May after he quit his Rangers post to seal a mega-money job in the Middle East. Bisgrove has been at Ibrox for five years and was appointed CEO 13 months ago when managing director Stewart Robertson announced he was standing down from the role at the Scottish Premiership side to pick up a post with Al-Qadsiah in the Saudi Pro League.
The Sun report that Gillespie - a lifelong Rangers fan - is now set to step into the crucial post with the Light Blues after a tough summer in Govan - with the club locked out of Ibrox and playing at Hampden amid delays to bulding work, alongside a tough transfer window for Philippe Clement. The 46-year-old has been a director with the Paisley club since 2020 and is an award winning CEO with Renfrewshire care charity The Kibble.
