The Ibrox club look all over the globe for their talent and one of the key men has provided a peek behind the curtain
A leading Rangers scout has revealed some of the processes behind the Ibrox recruitment chain - and laid out where their scouting department stand in relation to leading Polish clubs.
"I would say in terms of pressure. I worked in the Premier League for six years, but Rangers are another level. There are only Rangers and Celtic on it. If you win, you are on the last page of the newspaper. And when you lose, you end up in first place. And it doesn't matter if St Mirren or Barcelona.
"We also try to pay attention to the players in matches where the pressure is high. The Ekstraklasa is grateful here, because there are high-stakes matches with 30 or 40,000 people in the stands. It's still not Glasgow, but it's a substitute." "Probably if it weren't for the fact that we had him in our database from the times of Slavia and he was stuck in our memory, we wouldn't have gone for him in the summer, because his name wouldn't mean much to us. And now he is one of our best players. This past work has come to fruition, albeit with a delayed start.
