A club spokesman is quoted in the Moroccan media as stating: "Hamza has signed a contract with Rangers for five seasons, which amounts to £1.75 million plus extra clauses. The reason we have allowed him to make the transfer is we recognise the goal of this talented player was to go to Europe and we have allowed him the opportunity. It also helps the image of our club and Moroccan football. But Hamza will be the only player who will leave the club this summer.

The former Mexican international has joined the 15th club of his career at Racing City of Los Angeles and he admitted it could be his last at the age of 34. His Rangers contract was eventually terminated by mutual consent in February 2019 after two loan spells in Mexico blighted by alcohol problems. Since then, he had a stint in Poland where he didn't kick a ball with GKS Tychy, before returning to Mexico with three different clubs. He then signed for obscure clubs in El Salvador and Guatemala before ending up in Honduras with CD Vida, where he was released and announced he was considering retirement.
Pena said: "My only disappointment was that I never played in the Champions League - although I did play in the Europa League with Rangers. At every club, I gave my all and was a success at them all. I achieved all the goals I set for myself as a child, the Copa America, the Gold Cup, Libertadores, Concacaf and winning leagues. The final stage of my career is approaching, I will continue to enjoy it.
