Cornerback Rasul Douglas came to Buffalo last year at the trade deadline and immediately started making plays - and he barely knew the defense.
"Last year, I just came in and listened to whatever Micah and said," Douglas explained. "If I'm going to be honest, they just looked at me and told me 'You can jump something,' and I did it.""Is Micah gone?" Douglas asked the media this week. "Like, is for sure? We don't know.""Last year, I didn't know where else everybody was going — I just know told me I was guarding that person, so I guarded that person," he said.
It's a good time for the veteran cornerback — who's turning 30 in August — to learn the defense, as he's set to hit free agency after this season — which he was unaware of until this week. "This is my contract year right here? Oh," he said to the media. "I don't know — hopefully, they see and think that I'm worth something and decide to put a little bit of green in my pocket."
While he continues to build chemistry with his team, Douglas said he has some individual goals in mind — making a Pro Bowl and earning an All-Pro selection for the first time in his career.
