Kiefer Ravena admitted the 80-70 loss by Gilas against Angola was one important game that the host team allowed to slip from its grasp in their 2023 FIBA World Cup group stage match Sunday evening before a disappointed crowd at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The veteran Filipino playmaker said being down by seven points with two minutes left in the game was a deficit that's quite difficult to overcome, considering that Angola had the momentum.'I guess we let one slip. It's really tough to compete if you're down seven or eight points with two minutes to go.
'With three or four players from that team of 2019 and some of the players who played in 2019 World Cup watching today, we missed the chance because we really wanted to get back at them ,' shared the former Ateneo standout.'That was part of the motivation, bouncing back for those players who gave their best in the 2019 World Cup.'Ravena was part of that team that lost to Angola, along with Roger Pogoy, June Mar Fajardo, CJ Perez and Japeth Aguilar.
