Ohio Senator JD Vance, now in the race to the White House. If elected, Vance would become the 4th Vice President from Ohio.

Republican presidential candidate former President Donald Trump and Republican vice presidential candidate Sen. JD Vance, R- Ohio , appear during the Republican National Convention Monday, July 15, 2024, in Milwaukee.

Ohio Senator JD Vance is now in the race to the White House. If elected, Vance would become the 4th vice president born in Ohio.It was a mix really. Some said no comment, some said they didn't have an opinion, and some were all for him."I think there's a vulnerability with his previous impressions of Trump and some of the comments that he had made.

"He really has an ability to appeal to working men and women. I think what President Trump did was find someone who is younger but who is very consistent with what the president has been talking about and what he stands for," DeWine said.Everyone we tried to speak to within that area didn't want to go on camera, but they knew exactly what I was talking about when we dropped his name.

However, over near the statehouse, some applauded Vance for the work he's done in Ohio, and think that work would only elevate if elected. "He has a winning story. I mean his mom was addicted to hard drugs. That resonates with a lot of people, especially in Ohio, that's been hard hit with the opioid epidemic. I think that can resonate with a lot of people outside Ohio," Ethan Kash said.
