While everyone is likely to know Sue for her Corrie role, the star's TV debut actually came in another soap
She's been on the cobbles of Coronation Street for decades and Audrey Roberts has now found herself thrust back to the forefront of a major storyline following the death of her son, Stephen Reid. The broke businessman returned to Weatherfield last year and it wasn't long before fans were fearing for Audrey.

However, he ended up being run over by Peter Barlow, moments after he’d set Jenny free, and confirmed dead before the episode came to a close, with his heartbroken mum crouched over him.
"Actually, I still think that what has happened with Stephen could see Audrey off, we are all only on one-year contracts so you never know. The aftermath of what happens this week and the confrontation with Stephen does have a profound effect on Audrey, she is a victim in many respects and how will she cope with that."
And her career has also taken her to Vienna - where she performed between strip acts in a nightclub during the 70s. In 1976, she had a tour of America and Canada with the Royal Shakespeare company, which ended with a six-week run on the Broadway stage. Sue has previously revealed how the two met at a fashion party back in 1983 - and said it was love at first sight. She said: "I was wearing one of those Grecian dresses you could send off for from a catalogue. He was in the middle of, sadly, parting from his second wife and he was lovely, and that was it. I did feel an instant kind of something.
And Corrie also may have saved Sue's own life. In 2011, an episode of Corrie potentially saved Sue's life when fan Anna Bianconi-Moore spotted an unusual mole on her shoulder. The nurse, who worked in the dermatology clinic at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, had just returned home from a shift when she switched Corrie on.
