The young star is guest announcer on Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway this Saturday
Lenny Rush started his TV career on CBeebies - now the young star is following in the footsteps of Maya Jama, Stephen Merchant and Joe Lycett with his latest role. The Bafta-winning actor will be the star guest announcer on Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway this weekend.
Steve runs a kitchen design company and Lisa trained as a dental nurse before giving up her career to care for Lenny. He has spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita , a form of dwarfism, and spent four months in hospital when he was born. He had previously appeared in school nativity plays, telling the Guardian: “I never got Joseph. I remember the teacher giving someone else the part and I was really annoyed".
Juggling acting with school studies Lenny currently has to juggle his acting work with school, admitting: "It's a weird one because one week I'm on set filming and having to do school work on top and then the next I'm back in school with 30 other kids. I think it is tricky on set sometimes because obviously I have to have a set amount of hours of tutoring.
He said: "I just loved it, it was so much fun. We got to do a lot of improvisation as well which was fun and different. I've never done improv before but I think it just makes it look so much more natural and I think it makes it funnier as well.
