ITV soaps Emmerdale and Coronation Street will not air tonight
ITV will be covering the Rugby World Cup game between France and New Zealand live. This comes after the soap has already seen a shake-up in the schedule this week due to the National Television Awards.
Emmerdale usually airs at 7.30pm for an half an hour episode each evening, with an hour long episode on Thursday nights, whilst Coronation Street usually airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm for an hour.This week's Emmerdale episodes have marked some of the last that the current executive producer, Jane Hudson, has been in charge of. She has announced she is stepping down from the show.
In a statement released last month, she said: "I've had a wonderful time at Emmerdale and feel very lucky to have spent the last five years working alongside such a hardworking and talented team. I’m extremely proud of what we‘ve achieved both on and off screen, especially during the pandemic when we all pulled together to make sure we never went off air.
"As hard as it is to say goodbye to my fictional family of villagers, I can’t wait to have weekends back with my real family. But mostly, I can’t wait to be an Emmerdale viewer again and have no idea what’s coming next!"
